All About Me:
Professionally
With over a decade of experience in mental health counseling and education, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Texas Certified School Counselor (K-12). My career has been dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and foster personal growth.
I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Educational Psychology, as well as a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and a School Counseling Certificate from the University of Southern California (USC). Additionally, I earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Fine Arts from California State University-Northridge (CSUN). My diverse educational background informs my holistic approach to therapy, integrating science, creativity, and human connection.
My experience spans multiple settings, including private practice, school counseling, higher education, and community mental health. I specialize in teens, premarital and marital counseling, anxiety, depression, career and life transitions, and mindfulness-based interventions. My approach integrates Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, and Faith-Based Counseling, ensuring that each client receives personalized and effective support tailored to their needs.
My professional affiliations include memberships in:
American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT)
American School Counselor Association (ASCA)
The Woodlands Mental Health Professionals
Through these organizations, I stay informed on best practices and collaborate with other professionals to provide the highest level of care to my clients.
Personally
Beyond my professional work, I find fulfillment in spending time with my wife and three children, attending church, and maintaining an active lifestyle through weightlifting, yoga, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I also have a deep passion for fine arts, dance, painting, and music, which continue to inspire my work and personal growth. Traveling, exploring new foods, and engaging in creative expression are all ways I embrace life with curiosity and intention.
A guiding philosophy in my practice comes from Isaiah 40:31 -
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space for healing and transformation, empowering clients to overcome obstacles and embrace their full potential.
